ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I grew up with a vast curiosity about how the world works, about physics and chemistry - or, more generally, questions about the nature of time, space, and matter. This is why I chose to become a scientist and work in research. It was only later, in my thirties, that I turned this curiosity toward human physiology. At that time, I had started developing metabolic dysfunction myself, and I was encountering people in my immediate environment affected by severe metabolic diseases, such as cancer, diabetes, and Alzheimer's. Since I am fundamentally driven by the wish to understand the underlying mechanisms of things to make choices in my personal life that I feel are useful and constructive, I started going deep into the rabbit hole that is nutrition and physiology.

Food For Health is my attempt to make a deeper understanding of our physiology accessible to more people. Most of us find it hard to make optimal nutritional choices in everyday life - and I think that education on the why's is a powerful motivator to work towards that goal.
